Why the Recent Swarm of AR Earthquakes ?

Last year 39 earthquakes were reported statewide. This year the number so far has skyrocketed to 370.
Lawrence Bengel, Director of Arkansas Oil and Gas Commission says, "There could be increase in distance between wells. There could be look at the relationship to wells in the various geological settings and change those locations, look at operation standards, pressures, rate changes. All those or combination of those could be remedies to the seismic activity if there is a connection."
Why the Recent Swarm of AR Earthquakes?
Because there were reports of loud banging sounds at around the time birds started falling like feathery black hailstones, officials are trying to blame New Year's revelers setting off fireworks.
Dan Cristol, a biology professor and co-founder of the Institute for Integrative Bird Behavior Studies at the College of William & Mary, questioned the fireworks theory, noting that was very unlikely unless "somebody blew something into the roost, literally blowing the birds into the sky."
And nobody is reporting birds with powder burns.
What they were reporting: birds dropping from the skies.
