The Perseid meteor shower peaks tonight.
No matter where you live, the show begins on Sunday, Aug. 12th, around 10 pm local time when the constellation Perseus rises in the northeast.
Expect to see a meteor every five minutes. The rate will surge as the night unfolds, increasing to one or two meteors per minute before dawn on Monday, Aug. 13th.

"If having a shortage of it makes them question the practice, that would be very, very good." The Fluoride Action Network released a statement this week signed by more than 600 professionals -- including more than 100 dentists -- calling for an end to water fluoridation.

They say while using fluoride in toothpaste has proven effective in preventing tooth decay, putting it in the water supply has shown minimal benefits.

"It makes as much sense as swallowing sunblock," said Mr. Connett.

PERSEID FIREBALLS:

The Perseid meteor shower is underway.
Don't panic, the peak doesn't occur until August 12th and 13th, but already 10+ shooting stars per hour may be seen during the dark hours before dawn.
On August 9th, Thomas O'Brien caught this green fireball streaking over the mountains near Aspen, Colorado.
