"Last night, I saw the noctilucent cloud display of a life time," reports veteran observer Martin McKenna of Northern Ireland. "It looked like the end of the world! The shadow-casting structures which illuminated the countryside were absolutely breathtaking." Here is one of the "hundred or so" pictures he took: "Large loops, whirls and pillars with knots could be seen moving rapidly in real time; there were astounding silver and blue colours mixed with subtle yellow, gold and green. It was a sight that left me awestruck. This is the best NLC season I have ever experienced!"

 GREAT RED SPOT RIVAL: Astronomers are monitoring a new red spot forming in Jupiter's northern hemisphere--a brick-red storm nearly as large as the Great Red Spot itself. "I have been monitoring the new spot since mid-April," says Go. "At first it was relatively small. Continental Airlines Pilot Dies on Flight From Brussels to Newark The captain of a Continental Airlines flight en route from Brussels to Newark died during the trip, but the flight landed safely with two co-pilots at the controls. The plane with 247 passengers aboard landed on time just before noon at Newark Liberty International Airport. It left Brussels at 9:45 a.m. Numerology ... look into it and surprise yourself ...
