The ANSA news agency reported that the couple had managed to pick up a flight from Rio the following day.
It said that Ms Ganthaler died when their car veered across a road in Kufstein, Austria, and swerved into an oncoming truck. Her husband was seriously injured.

The phoenix bird: an ancient Egyptian symbol for death and re-birth of our Sun

A new and exciting crop picture appeared at Yatesbury on June 12, 2009, only hundreds of meters away from where a "dragonfly" appeared on June 3 (see yatesbury2009).
It seems to provide a clever and artistic exposition of an ancient Egyptian myth, where a new, young phoenix bird (upper centre) is shown "rising from the ashes" of an old phoenix bird, whose tail feathers are burning.
