This week's confirmation by NASA that the Phoenix lander had confirmed the presence of water ice on Mars was just the tip of the iceberg.

Sources say other "provocative" and "complex" data, not disclosed in Thursday's announcement and not yet discussed openly by NASA officials associated with the Phoenix program, show that the red planet has "potential for life."

Well, let's follow this to see if they are ready to tell truth now ;-)

A month after 13 year old Jenny Tetlock was vaccinated against the HPV virus, she missed the lowest hurdle in gym class. It was the first sign of a degenerative muscle disease that 15 months later left her nearly completely paralyzed.

Her father, Philip Tetlock, a professor at UC-Berkeley, has embarked on an odyssey to find out whether the vaccine, Gardasil, is to blame.

Tetlock is not the only one concerned. The public watchdog group Judicial Watch has been periodically obtaining adverse event reports on Gardasil from the FDA.
10 deaths have been linked to Gardasil since September 2007, and there have been 140 reports so far this year of serious side effects such as miscarriage and Guillain-Barra syndrome.

A sunspot from the next solar cycle could soon appear in the sun's northern hemisphere. SOHO magnetograms show an emerging magnetic dipole with the telltale polarity of Solar Cycle 24.

So far this is merely a proto-sunspot; the magnetic fields have not coalesced to form a truly dark sunspot core.
Nevertheless, the little active region is significant. It is a herald of new Solar Cycle 24, and a sign that the solar cycle, while seemingly stuck in endless minimum, is actually progressing normally.
The calm won't last forever!
