Councils begin paying back ID card charges to thousands

The Netherlands: Several local authorities are to pay back the fees for identity cards following a high court ruling last week, according to press reports on Monday.

The court said the card should be free because most people buy one to be able to identify themselves to police and other authorities, making the card of more use to the authorities than private individuals.

Scientists find fifty new planets ... and one of them could have alien life

The new findings are being presented at a conference on Extreme Solar Systems in Wyoming, U.S., where 350 exoplanet experts are meeting.

This discovery was made by The High Accuracy Radial Velocity Planet Searcher (HARPS), which is installed at the European Southern Observatory's 11.8ft La Silla Observatory in Chile.
