UK phone-hack whistleblower found dead

'At 10:40 a.m. today, police were called to Langley Road, Watford, following the concerns for welfare of a man who lives at an address on the street,' the Hertfordshire Police said.

The police stated that his death is not considered suspicious, saying, 'The death is currently being treated as unexplained, but not thought to be suspicious. Police investigations into this incident are ongoing.'

The moment a humpback whale 'thanks' rescuers who saved it from dying tangled in fishing nets

A humpback whale which was freed from almost certain death by three men off the coast of California repaid the favour to its rescuers with a breathtaking display of breaches and dives.
The amazing hour-long performance was caught on camera moments after the creature was cut free from fishing nets.

Shares tumble wipes £24bn off FTSE as fears grow over debt problems in Europe and the U.S.

The FTSE 100 index dived more than 90 points to 5,752 - reducing the value of Britain's biggest companies by almost £24billion - with taxpayer-supported banks leading the sell-off.

Greece, Ireland and Portugal have been handed £240billion of emergency funds by the European Union and the International Monetary Fund - including £12.5billion from Britain.

Athens now needs a second bailout and the crisis is threatening to spread to Italy and Spain - two of the biggest economies in the single- currency bloc.
