www. d B 9 6 2.NL
From Amsterdam, Holland to the world, this is the radio web stream brought to you by the originators of the former Dutch pirate radio station Decibel Radio 96.2 FM. <
In the 80's the station achieved great popularity and legendary status by using a new and unconventional music format, consisting of the best new dance tracks from the US, the UK, France and Germany.
Discovering new artists, trends and records sometimes months before they became mainstream. Singles AND album tracks, remixes and extended versions that at the time proved to be a great alternative for mainstream top-40 radio.
In 2007 we were involved in the resurrection of Decibel in the Netherlands. However, the current owners of the 2009 version of Radio Decibel recently made compromising choices that we regret.

WAITING FOR THE ECLIPSE:
On July 22nd, the longest solar eclipse of the 21st century will take place in Asia. Traveling phtographer Olivier Staiger took this picture from Shanghai, where he is waiting for the lights to go out.
Shanghai is the largest city in China with a population greater than 20 million. On Wednesday, the Moon's shadow will linger over the great metropolis for nearly six full minutes, giving residents a stunning and lengthy view of the Sun's ghostly corona. In addition to Shanghai, the path of totality crosses a number of other large cities in India and China--e.g., Surat, Vadodara, Bhopal, Varanasi, Chengdu, Chongqing, Wuhan, Hefei, Hangzhou--each with populations numbering in the millions.
This could be the best-observed solar eclipse in human history.
