Two Wolves

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people.

He said, 'My son, the battle is between two 'wolves' inside us all.

One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.

The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.'

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: 'Which wolf wins?'

The old Cherokee simply replied, 'The one you feed.'

Gaza is "on the cusp of catastrophe", a senior UN official currently in Gaza City has said.

Gazans fear Israel using phosphorus

Doctors in Gaza City have told Al Jazeera that people have been admitted suffering burns consistent with the use of the controversial chemical white phosphorus.

Human rights campaigners say that Israeli forces have used the munition, which can burn away human flesh to the bone, over Gaza City and Jabaliya in recent days.

HIGH waves destroyed at least 27 seaside houses in a southern Vietnamese resort at the weekend and were threatening more than 100 more, emergency service officials said today.

In Ho Chi Minh City, meanwhile, high waves today broke part of a sea dyke, flooding more than 200 households, the state-controlled Tuoi Tre Daily said.
